Supervise, monitor and evaluate all day-to-day accounting activities

As Controller, I oversee all accounting operations. I manage the month-end close processes, analyze accounting data and oversee all transactions. In addition, I prepare financial statements to deliver to senior management so they can make informed business decisions. I am very detail-oriented while investigating and monitoring everything that goes through our accounting department – proving to be a reliable asset to the team.

What brought me here

My husband served in the Marine Corp for 21 years. I enjoyed the adventure and followed him around the country – I discovered that accounting proved to be a job that I could do anywhere we were located. When he retired from the Marines, we landed in Sacramento, California. While living there, I worked for a large landscape firm as the assistant controller. Eventually, my husband’s company closed down his division and he was offered a job in Spring Hope, North Carolina. We took the plunge and have absolutely loved it here since – the greenery, the mountains and the coast of North Carolina are breathtaking. It was meant to be. In October of 2016, I was offered a Staff Accountant position with Junxure and the rest is history.

How I balance life

Sometimes it is a struggle to balance work and family, but my husband and I stay active to help achieve that balance. We enjoy working out together or taking a walk around the river trails in the Raleigh area. Our oldest son and his family just moved closer to us – so we are thrilled to make more memories with his family, especially our two grandchildren.

What I want to know most in life

There are so many things in life that you just don’t know and can’t know. I accept the fact that I cannot know everything.

Who inspires a sense of adventure in me

My dad always inspired me to be the best person I could. He was the nicest, kindest, most thankful person I knew – he was always smiling. My dad would do anything for anyone, and I try my best to be just like him.
